This is how action heroes land. Your business can do the same. It's called a three-point landing. When you see this in a movie, you know two things: First, the hero is completely confident, stable, solid, and in control of the situation. Second, they're about to whoop a$$. This is how your business should land in your market. Here's how you can do a 3-point landing with your company. 1. Identify a Narrow Target Audience Uncomfortably narrow. So narrow that as soon as someone in that audience sees it, they know you're talking exactly to them. They say, "That's me!" You're speaking their language, and you're so obviously the right fit that they forget about everyone else. 2. Solve a Real Problem for Them Most companies solve imaginary problems: a problem that they assume the customer has or that they wish the customer had. Or they just build a product and then go try to find someone who needs that product. You need to solve a real, visceral, powerful problem that keeps them up at night. 3. Offer a Unique Solution Do something others don't...or can't. Offer the client something nobody else does that solves their problem better than everyone else. That's your business's 3-point landing. That's how you land like an action hero, show that you're completely in control, and then proceed to whoop a$$ in your market. 109
